The Company

Exotech is a metals processing company in Pompano Beach, Florida and has been a family owned and operated business for 30 years.  Exotech recovers and recycles a number of rare and exotic metals as well as produces rare and exotic metals for specialty alloy producers around the globe. The Position

Exotech is searching for a dynamic individual to become part of our maintenance team.   As Exotech evolves into a larger company we need an efficient team member that has experience in repairs and maintenance with a variety of manufacturing and factory equipment (both light and heavy duty). We need someone who can become part of our growing company and have the vision to work with a team to develop and implement new procedures.

Responsibilities:

• Performs preventive maintenance as scheduled in the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS Limble)
• Create and close out work orders with data including, labor hours, equipment maintenance and parts used in the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS Limble)
• Performs effectively as a team member, able to work well with others, open to receive and give feedback, and treats everyone with respect.
• Respond to equipment breakdowns and work to quickly resolve the problem to ensure the timely placement back into production
• Maintain a safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures and regulations including wearing all Personal Protective Equipment and using tools and equipment according to proper safety requirements
• Work from prints, schematics, diagrams, or general instructions to diagnose and repair equipment
• Communicate with Director of Manufacturing Operations, supervisors, and other employees about status of equipment
• Evaluate the level of repair needed for building systems including air conditioning, plumbing, chemical plant machinery, etc.
• Coordinate installation of new equipment and repair activity with other members of the maintenance team as well outside subcontractors, as required
• Available to work extra hours when needed to reach production goals.
• Other duties as assigned

Experience and Qualifications:

• High school diploma, GED, or equivalent related experience required
• 5+ years of experience as an industrial mechanical or electrical maintenance technician; troubleshooting and repairing manufacturing equipment within a manufacturing or industrial environment
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical manuals, and mechanical drawings
• Be able to work with other employees as a Team Player
• A demonstrated level of understanding that involves hydraulics, pneumatics and mechanical dynamics is required
• Ability to work independently
• Metal fabrication with MIG and TIG welding process experience preferred
• Required to read and write English and follow verbal instructions, including drawings and OEM repair manuals and on-line resources
• Ability to work in a fast-paced working environment, be detailed oriented, and focused
• Flexibility and self-motivation are required
• Problem solver: analytical minded, challenges existing processes, critical thinker

Ability to lift 50 lbs. While performing the duties of the job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, and reach with hands and arms as well as have the ability to stand for extended periods of time and for the duration of the shift.
